Grants range from $1 million to $5 million and are typically $2 million or less. The Foundation awards grants twice annually in June and December, with a May 1 deadline for the December cycle.

  • The Cottrell Scholar Award (CSA) is available to early career faculty at U.S. and Canadian research universities and primarily undergraduate institutions.
