Michael G. Bare, M.P.H.
Communications Manager

Michael has 15 years of experience in communications and strategy in public health, clinical medicine, and public policy projects.

Prior to joining the Science Philanthropy Alliance, Michael worked on audience engagement and national partnerships for public health documentary films at Independent Television Services, managed a public health and human rights legislative watchdog project: Preemption Watch, worked on communications and advocacy at the National LGBT Cancer Network, and worked on science communications at the University of California, San Francisco.

Michael is the former policy chair for the American Public Health Association’s LGBT Health Caucus, and has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Public Diplomacy Magazine, and the Huffington Post.

Michael completed his Masters of Public Health at New York Medical College, his baccalaureate degree at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH, and is a member of the Delta Omega honorary society for studies in public health.
