The Science Philanthropy Alliance is proud to share our 2025 Annual Report, Navigating a New Era for Discovery. This year's report highlights how science philanthropy is meeting the needs of a changing research landscape while helping build a stronger, more resilient science ecosystem for the future.
Throughout 2025, the Alliance worked alongside our members and advisees to identify emerging funding opportunities, convene leaders across philanthropy, science, and policy, and help funders navigate new challenges facing discovery science. We advised nearly 70 funders, influenced more than $515 million in new funding for science, and welcomed seven new members to the Alliance. We also transitioned to independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, launched a redesigned website and member portal, and introduced an interactive Science Philanthropy Indicators Report that makes science funding data more accessible and actionable.
We are deeply grateful to our members, staff, Board of Directors, External Science Advisors, and the broader community of partners whose leadership and collaboration make this work possible. As the scientific enterprise continues to evolve, this report celebrates what we've accomplished together and reaffirms our shared commitment to advancing discovery science for the benefit of humanity and the planet. We look forward to continuing this important work together.
