Naomi Azrieli, O.C., DPhil
Naomi Azrieli, O.C., DPhil, is Chair and CEO of the Azrieli Foundation, one of the largest foundations in Canada. A strategic and visionary leader, she has been bringing people and organizations together to address challenges in diverse areas – from healthcare and science to community and education – for more than two decades.
She has created and launched several unique programs at the Azrieli Foundation, including the Azrieli Fellows Program, the Azrieli Science Grants, the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence and the award-winning Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program.
Naomi has co-developed and established numerous initiatives with academic, research and cultural institutions across Canada and Israel. She sits on several Boards, including as Past Chair of Brain Canada, where she helped to increase the scale, scope and support of Canadian brain research. She is also President of Canpro Investments Ltd. and the Founder and President of Omico Investments and Rafiken Social Enterprises.
In 2013, Naomi was awarded France’s Legion of Honor, and in 2022, she was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. She holds a doctorate (DPhil) from the University of Oxford, a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
Born in Montreal, she now resides in Toronto with her husband and three children.
