Science Frontiers Fund at Yale

Yale University’s tripartite mission to create, preserve, and disseminate knowledge empowers its basic research enterprise. Yale’s faculty members have been widely recognized for their discovery-driven research contributions in areas as diverse as physics, chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, and ecology.

To achieve and maintain the highest levels of excellence and innovation, Yale is establishing the Science Frontiers Fund at Yale, which introduces and seeks new opportunities for private support of basic research. Such funds will ensure that ground-breaking, discovery-driven contributions to the biological, physical, and engineering sciences continue to be made through Yale’s research endeavors.

This fund supports several types of awards, including: research awards for faculty to conduct innovative, high-impact basic research; flexible support for exceptional early-career investigators; fellowship support for graduate and postdoctoral researchers; and funds that broaden access to state-of-the-art technology and instrumentation.

Faculty members at all career stages, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers will be eligible to receive funding from the Yale Science Frontiers Fund at Yale. The Fund will also support state-of-the-art core facilities administered by Ph.D.-level scientists.

The Fund will be overseen by Yale leadership and review processes appropriate to each program implemented.

A range of current use and endowed funding opportunities exist. Please click on link below or contact Deputy Provost for Science & Technology Steven Girvin (steven.girvin@yale.edu) for more information.
